1.0 Learning Objectives
This project has four parts and enables you to apply the concepts learnt in the
subject. At the end of this project,you should be able to demonstrate your ability to:
explain the main processes in retail banking
document the processes using swim lane diagrams
implement the process automation using VBA progrAMMing language
2.0 Assessment
The project contributes 80% to the @R_178_10586@l assessment marks for the subject. It has
group and individual parts. Each group may consists of 4 – 5 members. Following
are the assessments for the project.

5.0 Project Information
Part 1 – Processes in Retail Banking (Group)
In groups of four or five students,research on retail banking processes. Typical
products/services offered in retail banking include current account,savings account,
fixed deposit,ATM,GIRO,online banking,phone banking,varIoUs card services,
loan etc. To Help you jumpstart your research,you may consider the following
processes.
A. student Loan Application
B. Mortgage Loan Application
C. Bank Account opening / Registration
D. Credit Card Application
E. Cheque Processing
The research is expected to include but not limited to the following. Keep to EIGHT

Part 2 – Swim Lane Diagram (Individual)
Each student is to SELEct one retail banking process,research and submit the
following. You may SELEct the processes from Part 1.
1. Description of the SELEcted process covering the purpose of the process,the
roles,data,activities / steps involved etc. (One process per student and no
duplicate process within the team)

2. Draw a business process modeling diagram to represent the roles,activities
and the flow carried out in the SELEcted process.
Part 3 – VBA Application (Individual)
Using VBA progrAMMing language,implement the process you have SELEcted in Part
2. Implement form(s) and develop code to perform at least the following:
a) add,update,delete and retrieve data fields
b) perform validation of data fields at entry. A typical example of validation
Could be a non-zero value for salary in Mortgage Loan Processing.
C) perform at least one complex function. Some examples of complex functions
are:
In Mortgage Loan Processing,the function Could be checking that the@H_131_5@monthly repayment should be less than the monthly salary of the
applicant
Email the spreadsheet to assigned personnel
Save the spreadsheet as a PDF report etc.
You are encouraged to use Function or SubroutIne for this part.

6.0 requirements and Guidelines
You are required to comply to the following format and structure Strictly.
6.1 Format of Project Report
You are to submit your individual report using the stated format:
Font
Font : Times New Roman
Font Size : 12
Spacing
Line Spacing : Single line spacing within a paragraph and double line

Header and Footers
number every page for the main body of the report.
Labeling
For each individual submission,print your name and admission number on every
page.
Page Cover
Do not number the cover page. Refer to cover page template in Appendix 2.
Content Page
The report must be accompanied by a content page. The varIoUs sections in the
report shall be listed in the content page with their corresponding page numbers.

Please include your references. Use APA format
